UL Warns of Counterfeit UL Mark on USB Power Adaptors
PUBLIC NOTICE
NORTHBROOK, Ill., March 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UL is notifying consumers and retailers that the USB power adaptor Model A1265 identified below bears a counterfeit UL Mark for the United States and Canada. These USB power adaptors have not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is unknown if these power adaptors comply with any safety requirements.
Note that the Model A1265 with the counterfeit UL Mark is similar to a Model A1265 that is authorized to bear the UL Mark. The counterfeit Model A1265 USB power adaptors are marked "Designed Abble in California" or "Designed by China in California," which is different than the authorized model which is marked "Designed by Apple in California."
