U.K. Company Makes Major Manufacturing Investment in U.S.
FAUN TRACKWAY seeks to create jobs, plans to build ground mobility solutions for American warfighters and first responders
WASHINGTON, July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- FAUN TRACKWAY, a Welsh technology manufacturing firm, launched a new American company today to provide cutting-edge ground mobility and aircraft landing solutions to the United States Armed Forces, federal and state government agencies and the civilian sector. FAUN TRACKWAY products are already being tested by the U.S. military and civil research laboratories. The new company, FAUN TRACKWAY USA, Inc. is poised to conduct and grow its business here in the U.S. and with the U.S. worldwide partners.
War zones and disaster areas have notoriously unpredictable conditions and harsh terrains that put missions at greater risk. Modern warfighters and relief workers need to operate their vehicles and aircraft in a variety of different climates and terrain, including snow, marsh, mud and sand. FAUN TRACKWAY enables mobility in such challenging environments through custom-built temporary roadways, aircraft landing strips and runway repair solutions, helipads, and vehicle recovery systems.
FAUN TRACKWAY USA plans a major investment in the U.S. company which has already started setting up domestic supply chains to source American aluminium and other resources. The company is considering several American locations to build a manufacturing plant, depending on demand for the technology.
FAUN's technologies can be rapidly deployed, recovered and reused with little manpower. Primarily made of interlocking aluminium panels, products are recyclable, engineered to withstand extreme heat and weight and fierce wear and tear. FAUN's products stand up to the toughest standards set by customers such as the U.K. Royal Air Force and NATO Forces worldwide.
The company's leadership plans to play a meaningful role in the Washington D.C. and the nation's business community.
"We see an immense opportunity for our technology in the U.S. marketplace. The launch of FAUN TRACKWAY USA, Inc. has been a long time coming," said J Alun Jones, CEO of FAUN TRACKWAY. "Over the last three years, we have worked vigorously to create a new, separate American company. Our commitment to quality and durability is unflinching and we look forward to showcasing the value of our technology in years to come," Jones continued.
Mike Holdcraft, manager of business development at FAUN TRACKWAY USA, Inc. is confident in the need and demand for FAUN products.
"FAUN is unique in that we understand that every mission is inherently different. A mission's setting makes for varied customer needs," Holdcraft said. "Off-the-shelf products fail to meet these complex challenges and that's why FAUN TRACKWAY USA works side by side with our customers from the start. We make sure all standards and operational requirements are met with tailor made solutions, with durable technologies that withstand the toughest environmental challenges."
The company's launch event was held at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., on July 26.
FAUN TRACKWAY is a division of FAUN Ummeltechnik, Europe's largest manufacturer of waste disposal vehicles, ground mobility, aircraft landing solutions, and road sweepers with offices and production facilities in Germany, France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
