UBM TechWeb's Gamasutra.com Reports Record Monthly Traffic Figures
Leading Website for Video Game Industry Professionals Breaks 4 Million Pageviews for the First Time in March, as Monthly Unique Visitors Reach an All-Time High
SAN FRANCISCO, April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM TechWeb Game Network announced today that its Webby award-winning website Gamasutra.com has hit record monthly traffic metrics, solidifying its position as the leading online destination for professionals in the video game industry.
In March 2012, Gamasutra broke the 4 million monthly pageview mark for the first time since the website launched in 1997. This milestone represents a 21 percent year-on-year pageview increase. Overall, the site saw unique visitors grow 35 percent year-on-year in March to a record 1.2 million – more than double that of any industry website competitor.
"We have a larger readership than ever before, and I have to give credit to the experienced reporters, editors and contributors of Gamasutra," said Editor-in-Chief Kris Graft, who took the reins of the website in April 2011. "While reaching these new traffic records is great news, these increases are just a happy side-effect of creating and curating quality journalistic content around issues that impact this dynamic industry. To all of our readers, thank you."
Graft added, "It's not just Gamasutra's own writers who helped reach this milestone. Our user-generated Member and Expert blog sections are home to some of the highest-trafficked stories on the site. Our community drives industry change. So keep those great blogs coming!"
