U. S. Department of Commerce Rules in Favor of StratoComm

EATONTOWN, N.J. and ALBANY, N.Y., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- StratoComm Corporation (STCO) announced a Department of Commerce recent ruling enabling the export of its TTS (Transitional Telecommunications System) without a specific export license.

Earlier this year, with the assistance of its corporate counsel, Dorsey Whitney, LLP, StratoComm submitted a Commodity Classification Request to the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security. In a letter dated August 25 the DOC "classified the TTS as Export Administration Regulation EAR-99 and is eligible for export as NLR (No License Required)."

Previous to the classification ruling, StratoComm expected a requirement to obtain an individual export authorization for each TTS exported to an in country joint venture partner.
