FARGO, N.D., Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The addition of climate-controlled indoor storage and advanced security features have finalized the transformation of a recently acquired U-Haul property at 5200 Veterans Blvd. into a full-service moving and self-storage facility in Cass County.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Osgood has been serving customers since 2013 but offered only truck and trailer rentals, outdoor storage units and limited moving supplies until Dec. 4, 2015.
Last month, U-Haul finished its expansion on an abutting 3.67-acre parcel, which showcases a new two-story building with a large showroom, 571 indoor storage units, a 5,000-square-foot U-Box storage warehouse, a hitch bay for towing services and a full line of moving supplies and boxes.
"With this new facility, we have all the high-tech self-storage features that customers have been asking for like individually alarmed rooms and video-enabled security call stations. It really is a state-of-the-art facility," U-Haul Company of Fargo president Shawn Odden said.
"Our customers are thrilled to see U-Haul investing in the city of Fargo. The south side of Fargo has been rapidly growing for the past six years and our new Osgood location provides convenient access for all the customers on the south side of the town."
The U-Haul store, previously site of eMove Self Storage, has 237 drive-up storage units in addition to its new indoor storage units. The Veterans Boulevard location is southeast of the Osgood Golf Course and just two miles west of Interstate 29 at 52nd Avenue (exit 60).
"We're excited to be providing a much-needed, brand new indoor storage facility and other services to a rapidly growing area in Fargo," store general manager Linda Buth said. "It means being able to serve customers who were previously unable to get the many services that U-Haul provides."
The acquisition of the Fargo location was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
