JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul has been a presence in downtown Johnson City for more than 30 years. Formerly U-Haul Moving and Storage of Downtown, U-Haul Moving and Storage of Johnson City has a new name, a new address and more space to better serve the community. Now located at 2805 N. Roan Street, this facility sits on 9.59 acres of land with a combined total of 90,950 square feet in building space.
While there is still work to be done to complete this facility, U-Haul Moving and Storage of Johnson City is already renting trucks, trailers and U-Box portable storage to the residents of Johnson City. Plans for this center include the addition of self-storage, hitch sales and introduction of U-Haul's newest product line, a U-Box warehouse.
U-Haul was required to relocate due to the flood mitigation project. Clay McQuade, marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Knoxville, is excited that U‑Haul remains strong among the other businesses in Johnson City. "We were happy to find a suitable location that enables us to continue serving the residents of Johnson City," McQuade said.
This facility consists of three separate buildings, a 71,340 square foot, one-story building; a 12,028 square foot one-story building, and a 7,882 square foot one-story semi-open building. The main building was previously a game center called Fun Expedition and prior to that it was a Lowe's Home Improvement store.
