Two SEEBURGER Deployments Win Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards
L&L Products & R Twining and Company Limited Recognized for B2B Integration Initiatives
ATLANTA, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- SEEBURGER Inc. announced today that two customer projects utilizing SEEBURGER's B2B integration technology have been honored in the sixth annual Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards sponsored by Managing Automation magazine. The competition recognized SEEBURGER implementations at L&L Products, a Michigan-based manufacturer of engineered sealing and structural solutions for the global automotive industry, and UK-based R Twining and Company Limited, one of the world's largest producers of quality tea blends.
L&L Products was honored for a joint deployment of SEEBURGER's managed services, utilizing the SEEBURGER Business Integration Server (BIS) and the Oracle E-Business Suite. The use of SEEBURGER technology under the managed services model has equipped L&L with 24x7 global EDI oversight, faster mapping turnaround, reduced risk and cost savings achieved by using a dedicated SEEBURGER team with no need for in-house business integration experts. The project has also helped L&L achieve near-real-time demand scheduling, lowered material expense as a percent of sales, optimize inventory, reduce expedited shipments, address limited product shelf life, free cash to invest in growing overseas markets, and withstand turbulence in the automotive industry.
R. Twining and Company Limited was recognized for a SEEBURGER BIS implementation that has yielded significant EDI and B2B business process efficiencies, increased supply chain visibility and improved customer service. In addition to improving Twinings' trading partner communications, the project reduced costly manual processes by leveraging BIS' ability to easily establish connectivity with applications and services both inside and outside the firewall – including Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs, an e-procurement partner and an online employee expense claim management service that were not integrated previously. SEEBURGER technology has also reduced the company's EDI-related overhead by simplifying B2B mappings, expediting onboarding of new trading partners, and enabling easy message tracking.
"These awards highlight the versatility of our Business Integration Server platform and the concrete business benefits that our customers are able to achieve," said Bill Metallo, Vice President at SEEBURGER. "Companies like L&L and Twinings are leveraging the broad functionality of our technology to streamline a wide variety of business processes and thereby build competitive advantage."
The Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards recognize 100 projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation Media as critical to business success in the years ahead. An independent judging panel chaired by David R. Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, Managing Automation Media, and Jeff Moad, Executive Editor, Managing Automation Media, reviewed project nominations.
Winners will be honored at a dinner on May 5, the last day of the three-day Progressive Manufacturing Summit 2010, Seizing the Future: Leadership Strategies for the Recovery and Beyond, in Palm Beach, FL. In addition to presenting the awards to the PM 100 winners, Managing Automation Media will announce High Achiever winners in each of the eight disciplines, Editors Choice and Best of Mastery awards, and the 2010 Progressive Manufacturers of the Year at both a large and a small company.
