Twelfth International FoodTec/China Interfood Shanghai 2010 Kicks Off in October
Innovations for Better Food
Be Part of the Food Technology Future
SHANGHAI, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The highly-anticipated Twelfth International FoodTec China/ Interfood Shanghai 2010 will be held October 19-21 at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center (88 Loushanguan Road). This exhibition, jointly hosted by the China National Food Industry Association, Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd., and Koelnmesse Co., Ltd., was first held in 1988, and is held in Shanghai biannually. In the twenty-four years since it was first held, the exhibition has been a staple event for numerous food enterprises engaged in the production, processing, and packaging of food products, as well as suppliers of mechanical equipment and technology services. This year's exhibition has drawn over 140 exhibitors from fifteen different countries and regions, and it is expected to generate a turnout of nearly ten thousand professionals in the industry.
Because the Chinese mainly consume natural food products grown by the agriculture industry, the lack of necessary food processing machinery and resulting inability to process, preserve, and guarantee food freshness leads to losses of billions of Chinese RMB every year. The inability of farmers to deep-process their products and thus realize the full utility of those products also leads to an even greater waste of resources. For these reasons, there is a great demand in the Chinese market for food-processing machinery. If production of food-processing machinery in 2010 makes up 3.5% of the food industry's gross output value this year, then it would exceed 60 billion RMB, which would be 2.8 to 3.5 times that of 2000. Market trends are determining the directions of companies' production, and market potential is also determining the scale of production for those companies. Staying in step with the market, or trying to stay ahead of the market, is a surefire way for companies to succeed. Among the myriad products to be exhibited at FoodTec China/ Interfood Shanghai 2010 are all kinds of production, processing, and packaging equipment as well as a variety of technology and services. Additionally, there will be detailed explanations of relevant policies and analyses of market changes, while leading companies in the industry will unveil their latest products and technological advances.
Benefiting from the construction of Shanghai's Hongqiao transportation hub and the economic boost from the World Expo, this year's exhibition will be host to a great number of Chinese and foreign businesspeople. The exhibited products will be shown to a great number of people in the food industry, and will focus mainly on meat processing technologies. The proportion of exhibited products from overseas will be quite high, and China's domestic products will also be widely covered.
