NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Try The World, a unique gourmet subscription box service, launched their special limited edition Holiday Box on November 1. The box has been put together by a team of curating experts, including David Rosengarten, cookbook author, food critic and host of over 2,500 Food Network television shows.
Try The World offers a sample of delectable food from around the world, specially curated by expert chefs and delivered to homes around the United States. For the holiday season this year, Try The World will also debut a unique 800 square foot pop-up store at Wallplay in the Lower East Side, New York for foodies to sample delicious items from the new box and purchase them in person for the first time ever.
Founded in 2013, Try The World has released more than ten different boxes from destinations such as Spain, France, Morocco, Argentina, Japan, Italy, Turkey, the UK, and India. Every two months, country-themed boxes provide an opportunity to taste authentic foods from different countries right from your home. Each Special Edition Holiday Box includes eight seasonal products, with several favorites selected by David Rosengarten, in addition to a Culture Guide with music, recipes, and tips on how to use the products to create experiences at home. The Special Edition Holiday Box will be available until end of December and will be a larger size.
Opening on December 11, the pop-up store on 118 Orchard Street will be the inspirational destination for holiday gift shoppers in New York. Partnering with Wallplay, a brand storytelling company that brings narratives to life inside its spaces, Try The World will transform the Wallplay space into a destination to discover new cultures. The store will sell the Special Edition Holiday Box and Try The World subscriptions with exclusive in-store offers, and will celebrate cultures from around the world by offering free tastings of food and wine, appearances with curating chefs, such as David Rosengarten, Jamie Bissonnette, and Chris Jaeckle, international movie screenings, and music.
Kat Vorotova and David Foult, Co-Founders and Co-CEOs of Try The World, said: "Following the success of our country-specific boxes to date, we are excited to launch this Special Edition Holiday Box which captures the way people around the world celebrate the holidays. With this box, we are debuting our new format of the box itself - which will now be larger to accommodate larger format gourmet products. We are one of the first subscription box companies to ever venture into retail. Try The World pop-up is the store that best captures the essence of New York City, a global city where cultures meet."
With the gourmet food boxes, Try The World captures the essence of cultural life from countries around the world, allowing food enthusiasts a full immersive tasting from top regions and cities globally. The delicacies span from locally sourced items that are hand-sourced from different regions in and around each destination. The Special Edition Holiday Box includes G. Cova & C. Panettone sweet bread loaf from Italy, Truffette de France chocolate truffles from Canada, Bazzar acai dessert sauce from Brazil, Sindyanna of Galilee extra-virgin olive oil from Israel, Nyakers gingersnaps from Sweden, Sciara nut creams from Italy, Teatonics herbal tea from the UK, and Orientines cookies from Morocco or Biokia berries from Finland.
David Rosengarten's favorites in the Special Edition Holiday Box include Orientines Moroccan palmier cookies and Nyakers orange ginger snaps from Sweden. He says, "Scandinavians cook with ginger in fascinating ways, and this Swedish-made box full of ginger snaps proves the point deliciously. These cookies are full of all sorts of sweet spices. Fantastic!"
Following the Special Limited Edition Holiday Box, Try The World will debut one of their first boxes from Asia in January, 2016.
