Shannon McIntosh (Pabst Racing/USF2000 Series) and Emilee Tominovich (CJ Wilson Racing/Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup Series) kick off the season at Sebring, while TrueCar Racing teammates Katherine Legge (Jay Penske/Dragon Racing, INDYCAR Series), Shea Holbrook (Compass 360 Racing/Pirelli World Challenge Series), and Ashley Freiberg (JDC Motorsports/Star Mazda Series) take their place behind the wheel for their first race at St. Petersburg. Fans will be offered an exclusive opportunity to meet all six TrueCar Racing team members on stage and for autographs, including Verena Mei (Team O'Neil/Rally America Series), at the INDYCAR Fan Village on March 24, 2012, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
As previously announced, the TrueCar Racing 'Women Empowered' initiative is an extension of the company's efforts to get more women in the driver's seat, both on and off the racetrack.
Through this effort, TrueCar is providing full-sponsorship support, professional coaching, and top racing team opportunities for the next generation of talented, high-potential female race car drivers in the U.S.
