Axelson began his U-Haul career in April 2006 as a moving center general manager trainee for the U-Haul Company of Northern Colorado (Co 722). Less than one month later, he was promoted to general manager (GM) and transferred to U-Haul of Boulder (722-027). Axelson also served as GM for U-Haul at South College Avenue (722-086) before being promoted to area field manager (AFM) for Co. 722 in June 2007. One year later Axelson was again promoted to senior AFM for Co. 722, the position he held until his recent promotion. Today, Axelson will oversee all operations of UHC of North Texas including truck, trailer and storage rentals. His knowledge and proven leadership skills certainly will drive Team 733 to success.
"Troy's background as a successful businessman has caused him to be successful as a GM, AFM, and a Sr. Certifying AFM here at U-Haul. He understands the importance of properly serving customers," ADVP Carey explains. "His focus on executing fundamental U-Haul programs should expand not only our storage product, but our independent dealership network as well here in the North Texas area. I look forward to working with him."
In assuming his new role as president, Axelson is most enthusiastic about the opportunity to share his knowledge and demonstrate his strengths as a leader while continuing to strive for success. Axelson is excited to have the opportunity to lead a new company that is starting fresh, and is looking forward to working with an experienced team that has a strong history of success. With U-Haul policies and procedures in place, Axelson believes he has a successful base to work with, and plans on expanding his team member's knowledge even further, by working closely with and learning from one another. As with all business, Axelson believes it is essential to be welcoming and friendly with the willingness to help customers be more than satisfied and want to return. He explains that if you can provide an atmosphere that is comfortable and welcoming for both team members and customers, then you will have great opportunity for success.
"As the new president for Co. 733, I plan on taking this company to new levels," Axelson exclaims. "I am looking forward to working with new people and welcome all ideas that will allow us to keep on track to achieve our goals. I also look forward to being in the great state of Texas, which is a very exciting place to work."
