Trina Solar Opens Australia Sales & Business Development Office
CHANGZHOU, China, May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Trina Solar Limited (TSL) ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a leading integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) products from ingots to modules, today announced the opening of its sales and business development office in Sydney, Australia, to support its growing base of customers and to seek out new business development opportunities in the region.
The opening represents Trina Solar's continued commitment to the Australian solar PV market, which has experienced rapid growth over the past two years, fueled by attractive government incentives including federal rebates, solar credits and state-level feed-in tariff schemes. Trina Solar has been active in Australia since 2009 and in 2010 initiated a long-term distribution partnership with RF Industries, the country's largest renewable energy distributor. Building on these existing relationships, the Company expects the newly established Sydney office to open up possibilities for greater collaboration with downstream partners, industry groups, universities, and research institutions.
"Having worked closer with our customers over the past year, we are excited to expand our presence and brand in Australia," says John Susa, newly appointed Country Manager of Australia & New Zealand. "We foresee strong growth for the industry, both for residential rooftops and larger-scale commercial and utility projects. Trina Solar looks forward to participating more directly in the growth of the industry and to collaborating with Australian partners to bring solar PV to the next level of adoption and popularity."
The Company views Australia as a rising star in the global market for solar PV. "Australia is already one of the world's top 10 solar PV markets, and Trina Solar considers it a strategic priority to continue expanding its influence in this market as it develops sustainably over the next few years," says Ben Hill, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Trina Solar.
The Company's long-term plans in Australia include building strong customer relationships, strengthening partnerships with downstream PV companies and exploring potential R&D projects with research institutions focused on developing next-generation solar PV products and technologies.
