Travelguru Unveils its Top Selling Summer Holiday Destinations in India
MUMBAI, June 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Goa remains the top summer-holiday destination in India based on a ranking exercise undertaken by Travelguru, India's largest on-line hotel network.
Scanning data based on hotel bookings on the popular site over the last three years (2010 to 2012), Goa consistently remains as the first choice destination. The exercise looked at hotel bookings made at all holiday destinations in India between March & June over the period.
However, consumer preferences seem to be changing when it comes to the next most-preferred destinations to spend the summer holidays. In 2012, after Goa, it is Ooty, Mysore, Kodaikanal, Darjeeling & Tirupati making up the top six places where most Indian families preferred to spend their summer vacations. Of them Mysore, Darjeeling and Tirupati moved up smartly from the ranks they had in the previous two years. Unusual and out-of-the-way destinations like Katra and Srinagar also saw an increase in their popularity while old favorites like Manali, Shimla and Agra dropped in their popularity rankings.
Travelguru has India's largest selection of hotels on offer across all the business cities and holiday destinations of the country. The range of hotels spans from luxury hotels and resorts from all the leading chains to a wide range of four star, three star hotels and even budget hotels, cheap hotels and also options like bed-and-breakfast, home-stay etc. When it comes to the well known holiday spots or hill stations Travelguru offers a really wide choice of accommodations in each destination. To illustrate, you can book over 250 hotels in Goa; over 100 hotels in Manali and over 50 hotels in Ooty. This wide choice makes Travelguru the most popular online travel seller in the country.
