Transitions Optical Brings National Tour To Seattle To Highlight The Role Healthy, Enhanced Vision Plays In 'Sightseeing' And To Unveil Top 10 Sights To See In Seattle
Seattle-area Residents and Visitors Invited to Celebrate Sight with Complimentary Vision Screenings, Activities and Prizes for the Entire Family During the Washington Brewer's Festival
PINELLAS PARK, Fla., June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the next stop on its 2012 Sightseeing City Tour, Transitions Optical, along with Pearle Vision, today reveals the Top 10 Sights to See in Seattle, and brings an exciting, interactive experience area aimed at educating consumers of all ages about the role of proper eye care and eyewear in seeing all of the 'sights' around you – whether on vacation or in your own backyard – to the Washington Brewer's Festival, June 15 – 17.
Leading up to the Washington Brewer's Festival, Transitions Optical, in conjunction with national travel expert and best-selling author, Marybeth Bond, identified the Top 25 Sights to See in Seattle and encouraged Seattle-area residents and tourists to vote on which of those made up the Top 10.
After receiving more than 1,100 votes, the Top 10 Sights to See in Seattle are Pike Place Market, the view from Washington's ferries, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Waterfront, Space Needle, Snoqualmie Falls, Ballard Avenue, Pike Place Chowder, and Woodland Park Zoo.
Transitions Optical's on-site experience will invite event attendees to celebrate sight by offering the opportunity to have their photos taken at a kiosk against the scenic, Seattle-themed background of their choice; the chance to win prizes including the Ultimate Sightseeing Dream Vacation to the Galapagos Islands; giveaways with healthy vision and sightseeing tips, and much more.
Marybeth Bond – who is also known as "The Gutsy Traveler" and has been to more than 90 countries – will be visiting the Top 10 Sights to See, sharing how healthy vision has impacted her own travels.
"What a thrill it is to be sightseeing in Seattle," sand Marybeth Bond. "Throughout my travels, I have experienced first-hand how damage to the eyes, which can happen without proper eye care and eyewear, can impact your ability to see the sights – whether you are on the road or in your everyday life."
Joining Transitions Optical in this effort is Pearle Vision, who will be on-site at the Brewer's Festival, offering complimentary vision screenings to children and adult attendees as well as distributing coupon offers redeemable at select local Pearle Vision locations. Transitions Optical and Pearle Vision are also sponsors of the Kids Area, where they will be providing family-friendly resources with information and activities focused on maintaining healthy vision, in addition to the games and other attractions that are part of the event.
"Sponsoring the Washington Brewer's Festival, particularly the Kids Area, is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about healthy vision," said Dan McLean, marketing manager, communications, Transitions Optical. "Through the activities we'll have at the event – and with our partner Pearle Vision – we will continue to encourage people and families to take care of their eyes so they can enjoy all of the 'sightseeing' moments in their lives."
Hundreds of people have already learned more about the connection between healthy, enhanced vision and sightseeing at City Tour stops in Miami and Dallas; following Seattle, the tour will head to Chicago and New Orleans.
