SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TrueCar.com, the authority on new car pricing, trends and forecasts, estimated today that the average transaction price for light vehicles in the United States was $29,439 in September 2011, up $358 (1.2 percent) from September 2010 and down $17 (0.1 percent) from August 2011.

"Transaction prices have started to decline as manufacturers have started to increase incentives and inventory is coming back," said Jesse Toprak, VP of Industry Trends and Insights for TrueCar.com. "Hyundai/Kia has been the clear winner when looking at the ratio of average transaction price to incentives compared to the rest of the major manufacturers."
