Toys"R"Us Children's Fund Donates $200,000 to Save the Children to Support Recovery Efforts Following Storms and Tornados in the Southeast
WAYNE, N.J., May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund today announced a $200,000 donation to Save the Children to support relief and rebuilding efforts in the Southeast United States following last week's widespread destruction in the wake of severe storms and tornados.
Save the Children is a global humanitarian organization that responds to the unique needs of the world's children during times of crisis. Immediately following this disaster, Save the Children deployed staff to the affected region to address the immediate needs of children in temporary shelters. Now, they are mobilizing to restore child care services in the most devastated areas so parents can focus on recovery and return to work. Save the Children will focus its efforts on several of the hardest hit communities in northern Mississippi and northern Alabama.
