BEIJING, March 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Towana, one of the largest bus digital mobile TV media groups, has reached exclusive advertising right from 17 local mobile TV operators in the third and fourth tier cities in the provinces of Jiangsu, Shandong, Hubei, Fujian and Heilongjiang, following the acquisition of exclusive right in 7 major industries of mobile TV advertising in Hangzhou back in February. Total number of buses amounted to over 12,000 in these 17 cities, and mobile TV has been installed in over 6,000 buses. The number of buses will continue to increases and this will further strengthen our bus mobile TV network.
Our exclusive resources in Shandong, consisting of the main cities of Qingdao, Ji'nan and Yantai, has been complimented by Linyi, Ji'ning, Zibo, Jiaozhou, Zaozhuang, and Liaocheng, making up a greater Shandong Economic Zone; on the same token, the addition of Kunshan, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang and Wujiang to our resources in Nanjing and Suzhou covers the most prosperous areas in Jiangsu province. In Hubei, Fujian and Heilongjiang, the exclusive right from Jingzhou, E'zhou, Longyan, Zhangzhou, and Tsitsihar consolidated our current resources in Wuhan, Xiamen, and Haerbin.
"With the urbanization in China reaching 50%, the move towards a more matured urban society is fused by future economic growth. The driving force for the future development of China is not only the urbanization of the first-tier and second-tier cities, but also that of the third-tier and fourth-tier even country-level cities. And we have noted that the latter ones are the most economically dynamic areas in China. We forecast that they will be the major force of China's urbanization, and their economic development rate will exceed that of first-tier and second-tier cities. Thus there will be plenty of opportunities existing in these third-tier and fourth-tier cities," said Gareth Chang, Chairman of the Board as well as CEO of Towona. He has also stated the expansion aims of strengthening and integrating the resources of the partner cities, building collaborative strengths at provincial level and providing more communication channels for the clients. Towona will continue to explore more second-tier, third-tier and fourth-tier cities on a rational base, in order to complement and strengthen the resources of the central cities, building interregional network resource platform.
The provinces involved in the first round of Towona's expansion have comparatively higher GDP. The GDP of Jiangsu and Shandong province is 4090.30 billion and 3941.62 billion in 2010, ranking 2nd and 3rd respectively. Besides, the GDP of Hubei, Fujian and Heilongjiang also exceed 1000 billion. After the expansion in those third-tier and fourth-tier cities, Towona will explore deeply the value of the bus mobile TV and achieve scale advantages.
