Top Women Leaders to Speak at CU Women's Council Leadership (WILD) Summit
Speakers bring wealth of knowledge, experience and inspiration to attendees of WILD Summit II on April 4, 2014
BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Women's Council, part of CU's Leeds School of Business, today announced two top local women leaders as its keynote speakers for its annual Women Inspiring Leadership Development (WILD) Summit. Colleen Abdoulah, Chairwoman and CEO of Wide Open West (WOW!), has been selected as the morning's motivational speaker and Khalida Brohi, founder and executive director of the Sughar Empowerment Society, as the event's closing inspirational presenter. The two women both bring very powerful stories of their own personal and professional growth and a rich learning experience to the WILD Summit II.
Colleen Abdoulah
Abdoulah started with WOW! Internet-Cable-Phone in August of 2002 as President and COO. In May of 2003, she was named President and CEO, and, in 2012, she became CEO and Chairwoman. Under her leadership WOW! Internet-Cable-Phone has grown to be one of the 10 largest cable operators in the industry with operations in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Kansas, and South Dakota. The company has grown from 600 employees to more than 3,300 in the past 11 years under her leadership.
Khalida Brohi
Khalida Brohi is a social entrepreneur and the Founder and Executive Director of the Sughar Empowerment Society, a non-profit social enterprise in Pakistan dedicated to providing tribal and rural women opportunities to grow their skills as well as learn leadership capabilities in an environment of growth and development. At the age of 24, Brohi is a dedicated entrepreneur and winner of the Young Champion Award by University of Singapore, an Unreasonable Institute Fellow and the winner of the fellowship award by YouthActionNet®.
