TicketFire Launches New Features in Mobile App
TicketFire Creates Easiest Way for Consumers to Sell or Donate Event Tickets
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TicketFire, a technology leader in the ticketing industry, announces an exciting new feature to its iOS app that creates the easiest way for fans to digitize and sell or donate event tickets by simply taking a picture of the ticket.
"Since our mobile app went live last year, we have helped tens of thousands of ticket holders in hundreds of countries digitize any kind of ticket and then digitally transfer those tickets at the last minute to another person's smart phone," said Dillon Myers, TicketFire COO. "Now our new Pic-to-Sell℠ uses patent-pending scanning technology to make it easy for fans to sell tickets at either a custom or market price, and then turn those tickets into cash or a charitable donation for the ticket holder, even in the days and hours leading up to an event."
"We are creating value from tickets that would otherwise be wasted," Mr. Myers said, "by turning them into cash or charitable donations. Everyone wins with TicketFire's Pic-to-Sell. Fans create value for themselves or charities, event venues increase attendance, and fans will have more options to buy tickets for concerts and sporting events."
Once users securely register, they can turn any type of ticket into a mobile or electronic ticket by using a smartphone to take a picture of that ticket. Then they use Pic-to-Sell to set a ticket price and/or name the recipient charity for which the ticket will be sold. The TicketFire app takes it from there.
As tickets are digitized and sold, they are put through a layer of fraud detection that has been integrated into the scanning technology. Additionally, no two barcodes can exist simultaneously on TicketFire's platform, reducing fraud during transfers, ticket sales and donations.
Since its introduction in August 2014, TicketFire has accumulated over 80,000 downloads in 113 countries, and has digitized tickets for over 1,000 venues around the world.
By entering into the $5 billion ticket resale market with Pic-to-Sell, TicketFire is primarily serving two groups which have specific needs: concert and sports venues where up to 50 percent of tickets may go unsold, and event-goers or season ticket holders who need a seamless and efficient way to sell tickets or donate them to charity through an electronic exchange.
