HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The cities of Mountain View, Palo Alto and Los Altos, California, have chosen Intergraph® as the joint-solution provider of computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and Mobile for Public Safety, as well as Business Intelligence and the Intergraph Interoperability Framework (IIF) software to increase efficiencies and reduce response times. Intergraph's system will be used for all dispatch operations across the three cities, including resource allocation for mutual aid.

The three cities, located in the heart of the Silicon Valley in Santa Clara County, currently use independent CAD systems. Intergraph's software will allow Mountain View, Palo Alto and Los Altos to join together in a "virtual consolidation" model, in which all three cities will share common public safety system(s). This acquisition is the first of three phases in the virtual consolidation project, one that will ultimately combine the public safety information technology platforms, as well as E9-1-1 telephony and two-way radio infrastructure amongst the three cities – Mountain View and Palo Alto dispatch resources for law enforcement and fire rescue, as well as local government and public utilities, while Los Altos dispatches for the Los Altos Police Department.
Intergraph's solution will allow the participating agencies to benefit from real-time communication and collaboration for day-to-day delivery of public safety services, as well as response to regional emergencies. Furthermore, the sharing of CAD systems will reduce costs, speed emergency response and improve services by avoiding task redundancy and leveraging resources. The cities will utilize the Intergraph Interoperability Framework (IIF) to provide standards-based interfaces between the Intergraph CAD and external public safety systems to facilitate real-time information exchange with other allied public safety agencies in the region, as well as other third-party systems and services.
Intergraph's emergency response management software provides public safety and government agencies with the technology and tools to achieve a common operating picture, which provides consistent and standardized information and geospatial intelligence to all relevant parties. This common operating picture also supports agencies in disaster planning, incident management and police records management.
