This Weekend: Rock 'N' Roll Marathon Series Does the Unthinkable
- Over 55,000 runners participate in San Antonio and Las Vegas events on Sunday

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Running two marathons in two different cities, just hours apart from each other? Some would call it "crazy." Running enthusiasts will casually call it their own "amazing race." On Sunday, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series 2013 event schedule concludes with not one, but two events on the same day. Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio commences on Sunday, November 17 at 7:30 a.m. followed by Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas at 4:30 p.m.

Sunday morning, Rock 'n' Roll will welcome runners to the Lone Star state to participate in a beautiful 26.2 or 13.1-mile flat course that winds past San Antonio's famous landmarks including the Alamo, Pearl Brewery, historic Japanese Tea Garden and through the Trinity University campus. In addition to the sights, bands and cheerleaders at every mile will cheer on racers along the course. The party doesn't stop at the finish line; runners will enjoy a post-race concert by four time Grammy nominee, country superstar Joe Nichols.
As the sun sets Sunday evening, runners 1,200 miles away will transform the iconic Las Vegas Strip will be transformed into a runner's paradise for in Sin City. This year, the unique event offers the Zappos.com 1/2 of a 1/2 to allow runners of all abilities the chance to experience the Strip at Night.
Joining the bright neon-lit block party are The Biggest Loser host, Alison Sweeney, Bachelor and Bachelor Pad star contestant Tenley Molzah, Full House favorite Andrea Barber and NASCAR driver German Quiroga. To kick off the festivities, Billboard chart-topping band All-American Rejects will take the stage for a rockin' performance at the start line village.
For the fifth year, the Las Vegas event will benefit the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. As the event's official charity partner, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America will return with the Team Challenge half-marathon training program. Over the five-year history of the event, more than 20 million has been raised for CCFA through the Las Vegas race.

A unique group of 200 passionate runners of all levels will challenge themselves by attempting both races in one day. They will participate in San Antonio Sunday morning and then hop on a flight to make it to the start line and run in a completely different atmosphere in the Las Vegas race.

Race weekend kicks off in both cities with the free Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, Nov. 15th from 11:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday, Nov. 16th from 10:00am to 7:00pm. The Expo brings together more than 100 exhibitors offering the best in gear, nutrition, and training along with legendary running experts and athletes hosting interactive clinics.
