Thermo King Introduces Three New Products that Maximize Efficiency, Reduce Cost and Meet Applicable Regulatory and Environmental Standards
New Products Offer Innovative Solutions to Help Customers Run Cleaner, Quieter, More Energy Efficient Fleets -
MINNEAPOLIS, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Thermo King introduces three innovative products that provide industry leading environmental and cost savings: The TriPace Electric APU System, the T-1000 SPECTRUM(TM) Multi-Temp Unit for Trucks and the SmartPower(TM) High Output Electric Standby Option. Building on its reputation of responding to the emerging needs of customers, Thermo King designed each of these products after listening carefully to customer feedback and performing extensive field and lab tests to ensure these products met operational and environmental concerns.
The three new products include:
- The TriPace Electric APU System – is an all-new electric auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system designed to maintain comfortable temperature conditions in the truck cab without running an engine. Because it is battery and not engine operated, fuel and maintenance costs are significantly reduced. It cools clean, quiet and emission-free, meeting anti-idle and anti-emissions regulations and providing optimum system performance and a low life cycle cost.
- The T-1000 SPECTRUM(TM) Multi-Temp Unit for Trucks – is a self-powered multi-temperature unit with the latest in scroll compressor technology. It delivers leading-edge features to customers who need more than one temperature zone in their truck. SPECTRUM's SmartPower electric standby option along with its Advanced Fuel-Saving Control Technology provides greater fuel savings in all ambient conditions, hauling fresh or frozen; while its Tier 4 engine emits 38 percent less particulate matter and 54 percent less carbon monoxide than previous engines.
The T-1000 SPECTRUM is available in a variety of two- and three-compartment configurations to suit the particular needs of a fleet. The product has unmatched flexibility to accommodate the most demanding loads and delivery routes.
- The SmartPower(TM) High Output Electric Standby Option – provides customers the choice of a 24 HP high-output electric standby option or the existing 14 HP version. It delivers quicker pre-cool and less run time for customers hauling larger frozen loads, along with a greater overall cooling capacity. Its electric motor not only reduces emissions, waste generation and noise; it also reduces engine wear and tear, resulting in reduced maintenance costs throughout the lifecycle of the unit.
"Our customers need technology that not only meets and evolves with regulatory and environmental requirements," said Chris Casazza, president, Thermo King business of Ingersoll Rand. "They also need technology that reduces costs in order to remain competitive. Our innovations are designed to help them achieve both of these goals now and throughout the lifecycle of their fleets."
Thermo King will unveil the TriPace Electric APU System, the T-1000 SPECTRUM(TM) Multi-Temp Unit for Trucks and the SmartPower(TM) High Output Electric Standby Option at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky, March 25 – 27. Visitors to Thermo King's booth (#18177) will see these new products, obtain product information and be able to talk with Thermo King representatives about innovations to increase energy and operational efficiency and reduce costs.
