The World's Largest Security Firm Makes Final Preparations for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games

NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The greatly anticipated Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony is set to kick off the Games this Friday at BC Place Stadium and final preparations are underway. Contemporary Security Canada (CSC), an affiliate of the world's largest security firm, Contemporary Services Corporation, was awarded the contract to provide the security screening services for the Games early last year. With the Games just a few days away, CSC is ready with its 5,000 member highly-trained workforce, which will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the Games' guests and participants at the 27 competition and non-competition venues across Vancouver and Whistler.

In the weeks leading up to the Games, CSC deployed hundreds of staff on post at the two athletes' villages, the two Media Centers, and other venues. A number of support services have also been implemented in preparation for the start of the Games. The CSC uniform center distributed an impressive kit containing a coat, hat, scarf, snow pants, boots, and gloves. The CSC accommodation camp in the Whistler Mountains has received its initial CSC residents and will house 1,500 staff during the Games. A fleet of CSC buses have begun transporting staff to and from isolated venues in Vancouver and Whistler. Over 100,000 meal vouchers have been procured for the CSC staff during the Games, and the CSC Operational Response Center has been activated, containing a functional command center and a communication center with 18 radio operators covering talk groups 24 hours a day.
