WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/-- The 2015 commencement of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's (TCSPP) Washington, D.C. Campus marks the first time the six-year-old Campus graduates candidates from its doctoral programs. Hailing from the Clinical Psychology Program, the International Psychology Program and the Organizational Leadership Program, the new doctoral graduates will be joined by fellow graduates at the George Lisner Auditorium on October 9. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is the leading nonprofit graduate school devoted exclusively to psychology, and related behavioral and health sciences.

American Association for Access, Equity and Diversity Distinguished Scholar, Dr. Bill Harvey will present the keynote address. Over a career that spans 40 years, the noted researcher and administrator has focused his work on the cultural and social factors that affect underserved populations, putting particular emphasis on college and university settings. His extensive list of publications includes books, book chapters, refereed journal articles and professional and technical reviews. Dr. Harvey has also served as visiting associate at the Smithsonian Institute and as chair of the Education Advisory Committee of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Representing her class at the ceremony, Erica Vien is a graduating doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Program. Erica's desire to work with women and children in the field of mental health led her to completing her M.A. in psychology at The Chicago School, and to completing her internship at New York City's Hamilton-Madison House, a mental health community outpatient clinic. Eric will perform her post-doctoral fellowship at private outpatient group practice The Lorenz Clinic of Family Psychology in Minnesota.
Shirin Zarqa-Lederman, Online M.A. Psychology, 2010, will be honored as the TCSPP Distinguished Alumna, and Dr. Christiane Cox will be recognized for having received the 2015 Distinguished Faculty Award for Adjunct Teaching. Retired NASA researcher, scientist and systems engineer Bill Isley will be presented with an honorary degree.
