The Threats of a Nuclear Iran Revealed February 8 in Film 'Iranium'
Nationwide Screening Features Premier Events on Capitol Hill, AMC Theaters; Iranian Embassy Ordered Cancellation of First Screening in Ottawa; Free Online Viewing Available for the First 50,000 Registrants
NEW YORK, February 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Iranium, a documentary film exposing the dangers posed to America and the international community by a nuclear Iran, will premiere February 8 in a nationwide screening event at AMC Theaters in select cities, and at community centers across the United States.
The film will be available for free online viewing to the first 50,000 registrants at http://www.iraniumthemovie.com.
The film's flagship premiere event will take place on Capitol Hill, in the Rayburn Congressional Office Building. A list of screenings taking place across North America, including screenings in Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, and many other cities throughout the country, can be found at http://www.iraniumthemovie.com/news/premieres.
Iranium will also be available on Comcast's Video on Demand channel beginning February 8, and will spotlight on Hulu's documentary channel.
"We encourage concerned citizens across the U.S., Canada, and around the world to view this timely film and see firsthand the statements of Iranian leaders on their intentions for America and the international community," said Alex Traiman, director of Iranium. "This film sounds an alarm that must be heard if we are to prevent the perils that may result if Iran crosses the nuclear threshold."
Narrated by Academy Award Nominee and Emmy Award Winning Iranian actress, Shohreh Aghdashloo, the 60-minute film uses rare footage from Iran and interviews with 25 politicians, Iranian dissidents, and leading experts on Middle East policy, terrorism, and nuclear proliferation.
The film was screened yesterday in Ottawa, Canada following a previous cancellation of the film's premiere at Canada's National Archives. The cancellation came as a direct result of requests from Iran's Embassy, and the delivery of suspicious packages at the federal building on the day of the screening.
