The Republic Group Announces Officer Appointments

DALLAS, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Republic Group today announced the following officer appointments by the Boards of Directors of its various insurance entities.

Ron Lawson is appointed to serve as Vice President, Marketing. Lawson joined Republic in 2004 as Director, Marketing & Product Development and has held the positions of Assistant Vice President, Marketing & Product Development, Vice President, Personal Lines and Vice President, Industry Relations. Prior to joining Republic, Lawson was with Safeco and Cypress Texas Lloyds in various management roles. Lawson currently serves on the Texas Fair Plan Board of Governors and is a board member of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, AFACT and Texas Medical Liability Insurance Underwriting Association. Lawson is a graduate of Auburn University.

Lisa Underwood is appointed to serve as Vice President, Personal Lines. Underwood joined Republic in 2006 as Director, Personal Lines and was appointed Assistant Vice President, Personal Lines in 2007. Prior to joining Republic, Underwood was with Chubb Insurance for 14 years where she held increasing senior positions in underwriting and marketing. Underwood is a graduate of the University of Texas.

Larry Westerfield is appointed to serve as Vice President, Human Resources. Westerfield joined Republic in 1979 and has held a number of positions including Director, Compensation & Benefits, Director, Employee Relations and Assistant Vice President, Human Resources. Westerfield is a graduate of Texas A&M Commerce.
