MILWAUKEE, Aug. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (National Center) will host its fifth regional Reservation Economic Summit (RES) from October 7-9 at the new Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a golf tournament taking place a day before the conference on October 6th. The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe is the presenting partner for RES Wisconsin. RES brings together tribal leaders, elected officials, top CEOs, established or aspiring Native American business owners, and many more to learn, brainstorm, collaborate, and network in an innovative and motivational atmosphere. In addition to business development seminars and sessions, RES Wisconsin will also feature a Native American business trade show.
"The National Center's regional Reservation Economic Summits have been very successful, and we are looking forward to bringing American Indian enterprise development to Wisconsin and the Great Lakes Region," said National Center President and CEO Gary Davis. "RES Wisconsin is the latest National Center event designed to create and expand business opportunities for Native Americans and their businesses from coast to coast."
The Forest County Potawatomi Foundation and Forest County Potawatomi Tribe are the sponsoring partners of the event. RES Wisconsin is being held at the recently-completed Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee.
"The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe is very excited about hosting a regional Reservation Economic Summit in Milwaukee," said Kip Ritchie, President, Greenfire Management Services, LLC - a subsidiary of the Potawatomi Business Development Corporation. Ritchie is also a member of the National Center's Board. "We are very proud of our work and collaboration with local tribes, and look forward to fostering a dialogue with our colleagues from across the United States at RES Wisconsin."
The most recent regional RES was held in June in Washington, DC. Over 500 attendees heard from and networked with high-level government officials, business leaders, procurement specialists, and others at the three-day event held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. During the conference, National Center President Gary Davis testified before the Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearing focused on bringing economic development to Indian Country.
