The M&A Advisor Announces Bruce V. Rauner to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

NEW YORK, May 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The M&A Advisor is proud to announce that Bruce V. Rauner, Principal of private equity firm GTCR, is the recipient of the M&A Advisor's Lifetime Achievement Award.  Mr. Rauner is to be honored for his achievements in M&A and Financing at the M&A Advisor's 6th Annual M&A Financing Awards Gala at The Drake Hotel on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 7 pm.

A Chicago native, Mr. Rauner received a B.A. degree in economics, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. Prior to joining GTCR in 1981, Mr. Rauner worked in strategic consulting with Bain and Company and in economic analysis with Data Resources, Inc. Today, he is part of the leadership team of Chicago-based GTCR, a leading private equity firm focused on investing in growth companies in the Financial Services & Technology, Healthcare and Information Services & Technology industries.

Mr. Rauner is a member of the board of directors for a number of public and privately held companies nationally and several Chicago area organizations. A strong supporter of education, he has tirelessly contributed his business acumen and success to this cause. Mr. Rauner helped build the Chicago Public Education Fund and has supported local educational initiatives such as the Academy for Urban School Leadership, the Teacher's Academy of Math and Science and six new charter high schools including the Rauner College Prep Charter School. In addition he has provided major funding for the construction of the Rauner Special Collections Library at Dartmouth College, endowed full professor Chairs at Dartmouth College, Morehouse College, University of Chicago and Harvard Business School, and was the lead donor for the Stanley C. Golder Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurial Finance at the University of Illinois.
