The Leonardo And The Red Fred Project Present Children's Theatre Labs
The Leonardo and Artist in Residence Dallas Graham host very special program for children in need
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Leonardo announced today that along with local artist Dallas Graham, it will host a special one-month program for children to "investigate the JOLLY art of theatre." Dallas Graham, Founder of The Red Fred Project, Robert Scott Smith and Andra Harbold, co-founders of the Flying Bobcat Theatrical Laboratories will run the special bi-weekly workshops that target children served by different local organizations.
Each Tuesday and Thursday this month, Dallas will be joined by a number of Salt Lake City's best actors and dancers, to conduct "play shops"——exploring the fun and fascinating topics of mask-making, body movement, and character embodiment——with some very special, young guests.
Liberty Blake, Manager of The Leonardo's Art Lab and Artists in Residence Program said: "The workshops give these kids an opportunity to work with professional creatives in an inspiring environment! Last week we had kids from the Ronald McDonald House. They had a wonderfully creative time making masks and creating characters for a play. It was joyous! This Thursday we're hosting a group from the Angels Hands Foundation."
In addition to the workshops, The Leonardo will host a special FREE book signing event for all audiences with author Dallas Graham on Oct. 18th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in The Leonardo's Auditorium. Dallas Graham and Nathan Gold, co-author of the project's first book, Climbing with Tigers, will be on hand to talk about the joyful experience of creating this first book.
