The Frankel Law Firm settles lead poisoning case for $1,500,000

NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Frankel Law Firm in New York City recently settled a lead poisoning case for the sum of One Million and Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.). This sum represents the present cost of the settlement. The settlement was structured and will pay to the plaintiff future periodic payments. Under the agreement the plaintiff who is a child will be paid Three Million and Three Hundred and Ninety Nine Thousand and Nine Hundred and Twelve Dollars ($3,399,912.00). The future periodic payments are guaranteed by Prudential Insurance Company of America.

The suit entitled C____vs.  Dvorak alleged in pertinent part that the plaintiff was lead poisoned in a home in Suffolk County, New York. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant(s) negligence in failing to properly maintain the home caused the exposure and ingestion by the plaintiff to chipping lead paint and lead dust.  Lead is a highly toxic heavy metal that can cause severe adverse and permanent health effects particularly in children.
