NEW YORK, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- PROJECT believes it is time to lead the charge and transform the tradeshow experience forever. Today, PROJECT announces exciting changes guaranteed to revolutionize the industry landscape.
PROJECT Founder and Advisor, Sam Ben-Avraham, has hand-picked a successor to lead the show into its next era. A veteran of the fashion industry with over 15 years of experience, Andrew Pollard co-founded Kiki De Montparnasse, launched Diesel Jeans in Australia, and continued with the company in Canada and the U.S. He was also recruited by renowned Italian fashion company Sixty SpA to re-launch the brand in the U.S.
"Andrew was my very first exhibitor at PROJECT many years ago. He's a true visionary who will lead PROJECT into the future," said Sam Ben-Avraham. "Andrew understands the heartbeat of PROJECT and our customer. He'll be listening closely to create a revolutionary space in which they can grow and flourish."
Andrew's first move will be to address the ever-changing marketplace. PROJECT plans to re-define how our community does business by creating a new show format that will maximize the experience and value delivered for both retailers and buyers. The transformation will begin with PROJECT NYC, which will re-launch in January 2011, following a brief hiatus this coming July, with an entirely unique and compelling structure.
"Sometimes tough decisions are needed to create radical change. PROJECT doesn't do status quo and that's what we feel is happening in the NYC market," said Andrew Pollard, PROJECT President. "Our customer is our #1 priority, and we plan to drive innovation back into the market by creating something completely fresh and new for them."
In the meantime, PROJECT Las Vegas (August 17-19) is set to be one of our greatest shows to date. As always, PROJECT Las Vegas sets the tone for the industry by showcasing the world's best designer denim and contemporary brands, and the greatest number of buyers and top-tier retailers. Retailer registration has increased significantly with many new brands coming onboard. Previews to the evolving face of PROJECT will be seen at the August show, as the new concepts are gradually unveiled in the lead up to the official New York inauguration in January 2011.
