LOS ANGELES, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- In this current economy everybody is cutting back, but Comedians Dwayne Perkins and Christy Murphy have opted to celebrate instead. And who couldn't use a little rescuing and feeling good these days?
Perkins, an NBC, Leno correspondent who Rolling Stone magazine named one the top five comedians to watch, says he thinks the idea "is great for guests because they save time by going to both our parties in one night."
Murphy, creator of the hit comedy website Inspirational-Otter.com, says she was excited when Perkins came up with the idea of combing their parties. "The second he suggested it, I felt a sudden surge in the quality of cocktails and catering."
With the increasing trend of comedy tours combing artists and acts to create a better value for audiences, it makes sense that industry events would combine artists to provide added value for insiders as well.
Audiences who know Perkins from his Great White Moments in Black History segment on NBC's Jay Leno Show and his Comedy Central special will be happy to see that the same clever comedy they know from television is well represented in his stand-up album.
YouTube and Web fans of Murphy can rejoice at the upscale treatment her funny songs receive on her debut album, Feeling Good Looking Good.
The party for Perkins and Murphy will be held on April 29, 2010 at 8pm at The Fake Gallery on Melrose.
