NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The three-time Emmy® award-winning, The Dr. Oz Show kicks-off its seventh season Monday, September 14 with two new exciting season long initiatives that cover all aspects of physical and emotional health, a new core team of experts and an earnest continuation of investigative stories, right-to-know issues and all around tips for health and happiness.

Recognizing our ultimate goal is not just to achieve physical health but emotional health and happiness, The Dr. Oz Show will launch two major programming initiatives. The first is The Healthy Mind – a framework for examining the steps one can take to reach emotional well being and joy. This includes shows that will tackle head on various obstacles such as fear, anxiety, depression and addiction – four factors that most people experience at some point in their lifetime. Throughout the season as part of The Healthy Mind initiative, Dr. Oz will engage various guests – celebrities and interesting non-celebrities – whose life stories - can be a beacon of hope and lesson of strength and resilience for others challenged with emotional issues, addiction, or simple stress.
Creed front man Scott Stapp sits down with Dr. Oz on Tuesday, September 15, in the first episode featuring The Healthy Mind initiative with an in-depth and candid interview about his personal journey of being diagnosed bipolar and grappling with alcoholism.
The companion season long program to The Healthy Mind, which will be introduced to viewers on Friday, September 18, is Dr. Oz's Blueprint for Balance: From Burnout to Back on Track. This multi-topic series will run through the entire season teaching viewers a variety of different philosophies, techniques and tools to achieve balance in their lives.
Dr. Oz will kickoff the Blueprint For Balance viewer experience by introducing the members of his core team of experts including Dr. Sanjay Gupta, resilience expert Brene Brown, author Elizabeth Gilbert and more plus his Finding Balance Scorecard which allows viewers to track their progress as they engage with the new information and techniques they learn during each step of the plan.
