The 29th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon Presented By Equinox Hits The Sands Of Zuma Beach
Over 5,000 Participants Swim, Bike And Run To Help Support Children's Hospital Los Angeles' Pediatric Cancer Research Program
MALIBU, Calif., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox, one of the nation's most anticipated triathlons, hosts its 29th annual race on September 20, 2015 at Zuma Beach in Malibu, California. Attracting thousands of participants including the world's finest athletes, philanthropists, celebrities and supporters, the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox will provide the ultimate fitness experience with a half-mile ocean swim, 18-mile bike ride and 4-mile run beginning at 7 a.m. Fundraising efforts will benefit Children's Hospital Los Angeles' Pediatric Cancer Research Program, dedicated to curing and preventing childhood cancers.
With over $1.35 million dollars raised last year, the Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Equinox supports the Basic and Translational Cancer Research Program of the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Notable past participants include Max Greenfield, Teri Hatcher, Jon Cryer, Mark Feuerstein, Michael Weatherly and James Marsden.

The largest pediatric hematology-oncology program of its kind in the western United States, the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles is an international leader dedicated to providing groundbreaking treatments and therapies for children with serious and life-threatening forms of cancers.

The triathlon will comprise of two races including the Herbalife International Distance Race that features a 1.5K Pacific Ocean swim, a 40K bike course along the Pacific Coast Highway and a 10K run course along Zuma Beach. The Classic Distance hosted the day after the Herbalife International Distance Race on Sunday, September 20th, will feature a half-mile ocean swim, 18-mile bike course and 4-mile run. Spectators are encouraged to join in on the fun by enjoying games in the Fun Zone and watching young competitors take on the Nautica Kids Run and Tot Trot.
