Teradata Executive Stephen Brobst Named One of Top Four Chief Technology Officers in US

DAYTON, Ohio, Sept. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the big data analytics and marketing applications company, announced today that Stephen Brobst, Teradata Chief Technology Officer, has been selected by ExecRank as the number four U.S. chief technology officer (CTO) for 2014. ExecRank screened over 2,500 Chief Technology Officers from among more than 10,000 CTOs in the United States. The top three CTO's named for 2014 hold positions with Amazon.com, Tesla Motors, and Intel.

These rankings are based on statistical and algorithmic analysis of executive and company performance and are the result of research and feedback from evaluation committees and top Chief Technology Officers. Brobst was ranked number 14 in 2012.

Previously, he successfully launched three start-up companies related to high-end database products and services in the data warehousing and e-business marketplaces: Tanning Technology Corporation (IPO on NASDAQ), NexTek Solutions (acquired by IBM) and Strategic Technologies & Systems (acquired by NCR).

He performed his graduate work in computer science at MIT, where his master's and Ph.D. research focused on high-performance parallel processing. He also completed an MBA with joint course and thesis work at the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management.
