IRVINE, Calif. and SILICON VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ten-X, the nation's leading online real estate transaction marketplace, today announced the hiring of veteran commercial real estate executive Maureen Waters as chief marketing officer of its commercial division. In her new role, Waters will help align Ten-X's marketing efforts with the company's overall business strategy and provide strategic insight into each of its core CRE customer segments: institutional sellers, private sellers and brokers.
"Maureen's breadth of industry knowledge perfectly suits our efforts to communicate Ten-X's innovative platform to the diverse commercial real estate marketplace, and her addition will play a pivotal role as we progress through the next phase of our business strategy," said Ten-X Commercial Real Estate Division General Manager Gordon Smith. "With 25 years of in-depth experience in commercial real estate, Maureen brings to the table a unique skillset that will help drive our corporate growth. We're confident that Maureen's leadership will position Ten-X to continue to transform the way commercial properties are transacted across the globe."
Prior to joining Ten-X, Waters served as head of real estate and asset management at Bill Gates Investments. She also spent 15 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where she most recently served as chief marketing and strategy officer, and six years at CBRE, where she directed regional marketing, communications, technology and market research. She began her new role at Ten-X on August 1, and will be based in the company's Belmont, California office.
Waters has held executive roles in nearly every area of real estate, including marketing, strategy, business development, operations, research and sales. While at Cushman & Wakefield, she spent two years as a broker, learning first-hand how to best support brokers and their clients. Waters has established herself as an industry leader, earning several high-profile honors, including being named a Real Estate Forum "Women of Influence" and a Commercial Property News "Star to Watch." Waters has been recognized by the YWCA's Academy of Women Achievers in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments and the example set for women of the future. Waters is a national board member of Girls, Inc.
"Over the course of my career, I have had the unique privilege of working in various capacities where I've been exposed to all aspects of the transaction process," Waters said. "I look forward to employing that valuable knowledge with Ten-X as the company continues to position itself at the technological forefront of this ever-evolving industry."
