Teleseminar Series Launched to Help Patients Get Well Faster
VALPARAISO, Ind., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- One Health, LLC, a physician-owned company, introduces How to Get Well Faster Introductory Teleseminar series, an innovative health improvement program specifically created for hospitalized patients. It contains researched-based and clinically proven health improvement techniques that had fewer complications, reduced pain and an average 1.5 day (12 per cent) reduction in the length of hospital stay.
Most hospitalized patients have plenty of empty, free time. They spend it primarily watching television, bored, or worrying about their condition. This situation usually leads to additional stress, anxiety and depression that can have an adverse impact on their health.
Recent patient-focused research studies and surveys determined patients want to learn about their health and be more actively engaged in educational programs during hospital stays.
The purpose of the introductory teleseminar series is to provide patients with proven techniques that reduce stress and also promotes tangible health improvements, a critical missing link in medical treatment.
How to Get Well Faster is the brainchild of Elaine R. Ferguson, MD, CEO of One Health, LLC. While her desire to improve the patient experience dates back to her residency at the University of Chicago's Hospitals and Clinics, her more recent experience on the other side of the treatment equation, as a caregiver for her parents, inspired her to take action and fill the gaps she witnessed in the patient experience.
Dr. Ferguson said, "There's a plethora of helpful, pertinent research studies, literally thousands that are unknown to most physicians that can help patients. These studies don't support our longstanding treatment paradigm. It is imperative to actively engage the patient in health-improving strategies, or we will continue to face spiraling costs and increasing hospitalization rates.
"As a physician, a daughter and caregiver, I realized the importance of contributing to the patient experience in a positive way. I believe inspiring, educating and assisting treatment goals in this way has the potential to make a significant contribution to the health and well-being of patients across the US and globally," says Dr. Ferguson.
"We've created a program designed specifically to enhance the patient's experience, improve health and well-being, and shorten hospital stays."
There are more than 37 million hospitalizations in the nation's 5,185 hospitals, costing over $690 billion annually.
The How to Get Well Faster Introductory Teleseminars include over 5 hours of timely and pertinent health information and techniques in MP3 audio downloadable format.
The prerecorded teleseminars are available nationwide at http://www.howtogetwellfaster.com/intro-teleseminar-sales1.html. According to Dr. Ferguson, "We wanted to make this product immediately accessible to family and friends of hospitalized patients. We are also planning to use other avenues of delivery."
One Health has launched this product and has already received enthusiastic encouragement from its customers and expects this teleseminar series to be a tremendous success.
