Teen Pop Duo DESTINEE & PARIS to Open for Britney Spears' FEMME FATALE Tour - Debut Single "TRUE LOVE" to Be Released August 23rd From Forthcoming Debut Album From Streamline/Interscope
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The teen pop duo DESTINEE & PARIS will embark on a debut tour beginning August 17th, opening for BRITNEY SPEARS on her FEMME FATALE tour, in support of their forthcoming debut album from Streamline/Interscope records, it was announced today. On August 23rd, the two will drop their debut single, "TRUE LOVE" from the upcoming album.
Beginning in Grand Rapids, MI, Destinee & Paris will take to the stage for a total of six initial dates through the Midwest and East Coast opening for the pop superstar with songs from their forthcoming album. The pair's debut single, "TRUE LOVE," will give fans the first taste of what's to come from these singing sensations who deliver a strong pop sound based off of their sweet sisterly harmonies.
"This song is something we think a lot of our fans will be able to relate to," says Destinee. "It's about searching for true love and not finding it."
"It'll make someone feel empowered if they have ever had their heart broken and we hope everyone will be able to sing along to it," adds Paris.
"TRUE LOVE" is the result of a collaboration between songwriter Lazonate Franklin and producers Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub & Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello. Rising from a club-ready beat into a soaring hook carried by the girls, "TRUE LOVE," is an international anthem that's ready for dance floors and arenas everywhere. Angello is not the only powerhouse producer who the duo have collaborated with, GRAMMY-winning producer RedOne has also produced a significant number of tracks for the album. Also, drawing inspiration from another pair of successful sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Destinee & Paris wrote a number of the songs for the album themselves.
Most recently, Destinee & Paris made their way into America's homes by way of the small screen appearing regularly on American Idol Season 10, for which they were hand selected to contribute backing vocals and harmonies to the contestants' performances throughout the season. These appearances earned them a spot on the official Idol soundtrack as well as on winner Scotty McCreery's debut single, "I Love You This Big." Since signing a deal with Streamline/Interscope records via Jimmy Iovine and Vincent Herbert, Destinee & Paris have been writing and recording songs for the album, a release date for which will soon be announced.
