TECT Power Recommissions 12,000-Ton Mechanical Forge Press
Rebuild results in improved power, reliability and precision
CLEVELAND, Feb. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TECT Power, Inc., a worldwide supplier of rotating components and assemblies for turbine engines for aviation and industrial applications, announced today the completion of a comprehensive rebuild of the company's 12,000-ton mechanical forge press located at their Euclid, Ohio facility. This press is used for the creation of airfoils, metal leading edges and other forgings for aerospace, industrial and medical applications.
The rebuild began in December of 2009 and was completed in January of 2011. The press returned to full service after repairs and upgrades were made to the bolsters, crankshaft, hydraulics and electrical systems.

The Euclid facility is a premier supplier of forgings for the aerospace, power generation and medical industries and the press is one of the largest of its type in the country. The TECT Power facility on Euclid Avenue currently employs 90 full-time personnel and has approximately 25 forging presses ranging in size from 500 to 12,000 tons. In addition to precision component manufacturing, the facility designs and manufactures its own forge dies, is AS9100 certified and NADCAP approved for heat-treat operations.
