Team zMotion Announces Participation in 2010 Tour of the Bahamas Cycling Competition

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan 13 /PRNewswire/ -- zMotion's Pro 1/2 race team has announced plans to participate in the internationally esteemed 2010 Tour of the Bahamas. In 2009, Team zMotion won first place Pro Team, first place Masters 35+ and first-place Team Women 1-4 for an impressive season.

zMotion will bring a team of four pro riders to the January 2010 event in Nassau.  The team will be headed up by team captain Grant Potter.  

"I can't think of a better way to jumpstart zMotion's 2010 racing season than with the 6th annual Tour of the Bahamas," says Potter.  "I am excited to have the opportunity to lead a great group of riders in a great event.  Hopefully we'll even be able to squeeze in a little 'R&R' while we're there," he adds.

Potter is riding for Team zMotion for the first time this year.  Among his long list of cycling accomplishments, he took first place in the criterium race during the 2009 Tour De Tow and overall champion in the 2009 Stuart Omnium.  A Pan American gold medalist, he also was the men's criterium champion and his division's best overall rider in this year's USA Master's Road Race National Championships. In addition, Potter won second place in the Pro 1/2 category for the 2009 Florida point series. Potter lives in Parkland, Florida, with his wife Christine and their three children.  He raced for Team Champion Porsche prior to joining zMotion.

zMotion's racing team is comprised of approximately 40 members, including Pro 1/2, Masters 35+, Masters 45+, Juniors and a Women's Team. Team zMotion participates in more than 35 races in Florida, in addition to others outside the state. Year-to-date, zMotion has raised more than $1.2 million for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Kids in Distress (KID), Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and other worthwhile causes.  zMotion's next big charity ride is the Tour de Broward on February 14, 2010.
