Tami Fratis Appointed CEO of IPR International
WAYNE, Pa., July 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael J. Emmi, IPR International's Chairman of the Board, would like to announce the appointment of the company's new Chief Executive Officer, Tami Fratis. Ms. Fratis has been a director of IPR since the company's formation, approximately 11 years ago, and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the organization having served on the compensation, strategic planning, audit and financing committees of the board. Ms. Fratis brings C-level experience and governance skills to IPR and for the past two decades, she has focused on reducing risks and developing innovative ways to increase profits at the fund and company level.
With over 25 years of business experience in portfolio management and all aspects of the investment process. Ms. Fratis' business acumen developed as she worked with both private and public companies in areas that included: mergers and acquisitions; strategy development and implementation; operational improvement; new business development; and, direct capital investment. Ms. Fratis has served as an interim CEO, CFO, COO and CMO for start-up to pre-IPO companies. Services have been provided at the request of private investors, creditors and Mid-Atlantic based venture capital funds, including TL Ventures, Safeguard Scientifics, IL Management, LLR Equity Partners, Phoenician Ventures, Murex Investments and Meidlinger Partners. Ms. Fratis' track record demonstrates an ability to successfully enter and exit businesses, raise capital and syndicate deals as well as increase revenue, reduce costs and increase shareholder value.
Ms. Fratis is a key figure in the Mid-Atlantic business and financial community and served for a decade on the investment advisory committee for a PA Commonwealth sponsored seed technology fund (Ben Franklin Technology Partners - Southeastern PA) and was appointed in 2005 to the State of Delaware's investment review board.
Ms. Fratis is a former director and chairman of the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT), which is an association of 66 venture funds and private equity investors that manage in excess of $15 billion, and a former executive committee member and director of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Fratis is the former president of the Wharton School of Business Alumni Association of Philadelphia, where she earned her Masters of Business Administration in finance, strategy, and entrepreneurial management. Ms. Fratis earned her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, with a minor in economics and physics concentration, from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Fratis' community service activities include serving as a Trustee of Northwestern Human Services (NHS), a $600 million, multi-state, provider of mental health and human services, and Wilson College, where she serves as part of the investment and audit committees. She is active with the West Point Society of Philadelphia and serves as an ambassador for Wharton Business School.
