T3's Joel Bruckenstein Receives 2017 Leadership Award at Bob Veres' Insider's Forum in Nashville
Bruckenstein Lauded for Creating FinTech Marketplace, Helping Advisors Adopt Tech Solutions, Rallying Thought Leaders on Key Industry Issues
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Joel Bruckenstein, publisher of the T3 information service on applied technology for financial service firms, today received the 2017 Insider's Forum Leadership Award. He was presented the award in recognition of his steadfast contributions helping advisory firms identify and adopt increasingly powerful technology.
This is the fifth Leadership Award bestowed by Bob Veres' Insider's Forum, a conference that brings together the leading figures of the financial planning profession. Bruckenstein accepted the award from Veres during a main stage presentation at the Insider's Forum held September 6-8, 2017 in Nashville, TN.
Previous winners of the Insider's Forum Leadership Award are:
- Tim Kochis of Kochis Global (2013)
- Harold Evensky of Evensky & Katz / Foldes Financial Wealth Management (2014)
- Mark Tibergien of Pershing (2015)
- Skip Schweiss of TD Ameritrade Institutional (2016)
Veres, publisher of the Inside Information newsletter and author of a provocative new book called, "The New Profession," said Bruckenstein has been instrumental in helping to create a vibrant technology ecosystem for financial planners and investment advisors. "Joel has for more than twenty years advised financial advisory firms and technology companies on how to improve the profession's technologies, processes and workflows. His efforts have supported scalability, thus allowing advisory businesses to grow and become more efficient," Veres said.
THOUGHT LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DECORUM STANDS OUT
In addition to being a prolific writer, a sought-after speaker and industry consultant, Bruckenstein organizes three annual events:
- A by-invitation-only forum for financial services technology leaders every summer
- A technology conference for heads of financial services enterprises every fall
- A technology conference for independent financial advisors in February
Bruckenstein is also the producer of the T3 Technology Hub and the soon-to-be launched T3 Virtual Exhibit Hall. More information on all of Bruckenstein's work bringing technology solutions providers and financial services firms and advisors together is available at www.TechnologyToolsForToday.com.
PIONEER SPARKING TECH INNOVATION
Bruckenstein and former partner David Drucker wrote three books on the topic of practice management and applied technology for the financial services industry, prior to Drucker's retirement in November 2014. They began producing the monthly Technology Tools for Today (T3) newsletter and talking about virtual assistants, going paperless and cybersecurity threats before these topics became mainstream.
"Adapting to accelerating technology change is a key challenge for independent advisors. Joel has in his own way served as an industry advocate, urging advisors to assemble the right technology tools so that their firms might grow and stay competitive," said Skip Schweiss, managing director of advisor advocacy and industry affairs at TD Ameritrade Institutional. "I'm also impressed that Joel seized the opportunity to lobby a captive Sen. Marco Rubio on the importance of the fiduciary standard during a recent airplane flight. That, friends, is leadership."
Jessica Searcy-Maldonado, Vice President of Kansas-based RIA Searcy Financial, was quick to add her endorsement: "I have participated at the T3 Conferences for many years, both as an attendee and a speaker. I always learn so much about practice management and new technology. The T3 newsletter has also been a helpful tool for our growing financial advisory firm. I can confidently say that we wouldn't be the firm we are today without the valuable, practical knowledge we've learned from Joel and T3."
"I humbly accept this award and wish to thank everyone who has participated in making the T3 community such a strong and vibrant force in the financial services industry," said Bruckenstein from the presentation stage at Insider's Forum. "Today's successful financial advisory firms have a big challenge: serving their clients well while keeping up-to-date with the newest and best technology and practice management tools. While our industry has made great progress, RIAs and allied institutions still have much work to. I am happy to have played a small part in pushing things along and getting the right people talking, innovating and problem-solving together."
