SVIRAL Announces New Funding from Pinetree Capital for Its Game-Changing Multi-Core Processing Technology
Pinetree Shows Support of SVIRAL's Breakthrough Technology that Enables Full Utilization of Processor Cores for Highly Parallel Acceleration of Real-Time Complex Data Streams
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SVIRAL, Inc., developer of its breakthrough technologies that solve the inefficient utilization problem in today's era of multi-core processors, announced today new funding by Pinetree Capital in Toronto, Ontario. Pinetree Capital has purchased 10,000,000 shares of SVIRAL, which represents 25 percent of the issued and outstanding securities. Pinetree also owns the rights to acquire another 10,000,000 shares of the Company. This investment is worth up to US$ 20 million and reflects Pinetree's commitment to SVIRAL's proprietary acceleration technology, which enables extremely efficient, high-speed real-time processing of large streams of complex data streams, impacting hyper-growth markets such as Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT). SVIRAL's multi-dimensional, multi-patent technology is based on over ten years of research and development and radically expands the world's computing capacity by enabling true multi-core parallel programming.
SVIRAL proprietary technologies enable efficient multi-core processing by providing highly parallel acceleration of multiple cores, without the current resource overhead of today's multi-core programming approaches. The current mechanisms used for multi-core programming are inherently flawed, and the complexity levels required to deal with multiple cores far exceeds the limits of the average programmer, leaving the industry with inefficient systems and untapped compute capacity. Using only 10-to-20% of computing capabilities causes inefficiency, which translates to higher cost, lower productivity and reduced profits to more than $500 billion a year in applications for a multiplicity of markets.
The amount of data in today's world has been exploding, and analyzing large data sets—also known as big data—will become a key basis of competition, underpinning new waves of productivity growth, innovation, and consumer surplus. Leaders in every market sector will have to contend with the implications of big data. The increasing volume and detail of information captured by enterprises, the rise of multimedia, social media, and the IoT will fuel exponential growth in data for the foreseeable future of which SVIRAL technology is well poised to enable efficient and scalable high-performance parallel computing within and across systems and networks.
"Pinetree's injection of funding allows SVIRAL to move forward in the deployment of our breakthrough multi-core processing technology in multiple compute-intensive markets, such as empowering our current partners in geo-distributed data centers, financial markets, mobile, LED lighting mesh networks and of course the importance of big data when it comes to servicing these markets," said Gordon Campbell, founder and chairman of SVIRAL. "The efficiency, simplicity, and performance of the SVIRAL technology will enable our licensees and direct customers to experience far-reaching and sustainable advantages by utilizing and dynamically accessing residual computing resources within and across systems and networks."
"SVIRAL's technology enables applications to span and utilize mobile-edge devices through the networks to the servers in data centers efficiently," stated COO and founder Paul Master. "Our first internal proof metric of how powerful this technology is resulted in over a 5x improvement of a single application that dynamically ran across ten processor cores contained in three different products from multiple manufacturers. These devices also supported different operating systems and different chip sets including a dual-core Intel chip and two mobile devices with two ARM processor cores each for a total of ten."
"The take away is that we have created a simple approach to utilizing computing resources efficiently," Master went on to explain. "When you think about where we are headed in terms of even more mobile devices, which are expected to begin outnumbering humans on the planet1 this year, and add the data that goes along with it, then acceleration through compute efficiency and true parallelism becomes a highly valuable approach to full utilization of processing resources. Devices will become smarter and more efficient when running compute-intensive applications without inefficient hardware limiting performance and battery life."
