Susquehanna Financial Group Hires Gary Nachman as Senior Analyst to Cover the Specialty Pharmaceuticals Sector
NEW YORK, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Susquehanna Financial Group, LLLP (SFG), the institutional broker-dealer member of the Susquehanna International Group of Companies (SIG), announced today that Gary Nachman has joined the firm as the Senior Analyst covering the Specialty Pharmaceuticals sector. Mr. Nachman, whose coverage will include names such as Allergan, Cephalon, Forest Labs, King Pharmaceuticals, Shire Pharmaceuticals and Warner Chilcott, will be based out of SFG's New York office.
"Gary is an exciting addition to SFG's growing Healthcare research team – which consists of A.J. Rice (Healthcare Facilities and Services), Chris Rigg (Managed Care) and David Turkaly (Medical Supplies and Devices)," said Mike Towey, SFG's Director of Research. "The addition of Gary brings us to 23 senior fundamental analyst teams in six major industry sectors (Financial, Consumer, Healthcare, Energy, Industrials, and TMT). Gary's coverage of the Specialty Pharmaceuticals sector is the perfect complement to our healthcare team and will further leverage our healthcare trading efforts, led by Michael Karmiol."
"Gary is a premier analyst in the sector and we are excited to have him join our formidable Healthcare vertical. Gary's research is thoughtful and differentiated and his industry experience was very appealing to us," stated Cory Carlesimo, SFG's Head of Equities. "We think that experience is additive to the investment process for our clients and is why a significant number of the 75+ hires we have made year to date have had either industry or buy-side experience."
For the last five years, Mr. Nachman has worked at Leerink Swann & Co., where he was ranked in the top 5 in the Greenwich Associates survey in Specialty Pharmaceuticals in 2008 and 2009 and #1 in the Institutional Investor's Specialty Pharmaceuticals "Best of the Boutiques" survey from 2005 to 2007. Before joining Leerink, Mr. Nachman spent five years at Morgan Stanley, where he was a member of an equity research team that was top ranked by Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates. Mr. Nachman's prior experience included three years as a manager in the Financial Evaluations Group of Merck & Co. and as a senior accountant at Ernst & Young. Mr. Nachman earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
