Susan M. Oster, CAE, Joins AOFAS as Executive Director

ROSEMONT, Ill., Feb. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, the leading organization for lower extremity medicine and foot and ankle surgery, has welcomed Susan M. Oster, CAE, as its new executive director. Oster fills a vacancy created by the departure of Lousanne "Zan" Lofgren, CAE, who will transition to independent consulting work after 10 years as AOFAS executive director. Oster was chosen after a national search and selection process.

Oster brings 19 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare associations. She comes from the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA), where she served as executive director for 10 years. Prior to the IPA, Susan was vice president of administration for the American College of Healthcare Executives, deputy executive director of administration for the Emergency Nurses Association, and executive director of the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association. Her experience also includes three years as an account executive for Smith Bucklin & Associates.

Susan earned an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, an MA in Counseling/Human Development and Higher Education from the University of Iowa, and a BA in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from Purdue University. She is a Certified Association Executive.
