SunGard Availability Services Building Momentum in Managed IT Services
WAYNE, Pa., May 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SunGard Availability Services, the pioneer and provider of information availability and disaster recovery services, has placed an increased emphasis on the intersection of complexity, resiliency and scale to better meet customer needs, such as higher IT efficiencies, modern IT infrastructures with improved security and compliance, and the need to simplify vendor relationships. This includes focus on strengthening its services surrounding managed recovery, virtualization technology and cloud architecture.
In January, SunGard Availability Services named Jack Dziak, who joined the company in August 2011, executive vice president and general manager of Managed Services. In his new role, Dziak leads the Managed Hosting Services team in North America to drive product strategy and provide customers with highly available IT services.
"With a product focus on enterprise cloud, managed services and infrastructure, SunGard Availability Services has delivered measureable success in up-time, service and product quality since the beginning of the year," said Jack Dziak, executive vice president and general manager of Managed Services at SunGard Availability Services. "As a result, we have sustained improvements in shared infrastructure availability, churn and customer satisfaction. We continue to shift our business model to fund expanding investments in high-availability services and a high-touch customer support model, leading us to increased success."
In response to customer needs, SunGard Availability Services adopted the International Standards Organization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 20000 standards in February to provide customers with the assurance that their service requirements will be fulfilled, consistently and effectively. The addition of this standard allows SunGard Availability Services to continue to achieve compliance, service improvement and service delivery for its managed hosting customers.
SunGard Availability Services continues to expand its data center presence, adding a new facility in Boston and expanding in its Philadelphia, Pa. facility. By the end of the year, the company will add more than 52,000 square feet of space in its data centers across North America.
In addition, SunGard Availability Services has received the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) North America Award, "Business Continuity Provider of the Year (BCM Service)," for its work supporting customers during Hurricane Sandy. During the storm, the company maintained 100 percent uptime and provided 1,500 workgroup seats at its facilities for customers' employees to help them do their jobs.
The company was also selected based on key differentiators that set SunGard Availability Services apart from its competitors, such as its responsive and integrated services and systems, including its approach to disaster recovery, managed services, IT consulting and business continuity management software to help organizations keep people and information connected.
