Runner's World Loves Sturdy Girl:
Ms. Heath built a bra distinctive enough to please testers at Runner's World three different times, for three different bras. In 2012 the Las Vegas bra was chosen a top pick for DD; in 2013 the Miami Bra was named a best DD performer. This year the Santa Monica was chosen for C /D runners because of "rock solid support." According to Ms. Heath, "We love Runner's World, and apparently their testers love us too."
US Patent Office Recognizes Unique Design:
Because Sturdy Girl's technology is so distinctive, Sturdy Girl was awarded US Patent #8,690,634 B2 in May of 2014 for their Sturdy Support System (S3).
S3 comprises three distinct Sturdy Girl advantages: 1) compression, 2) encapsulation, 3) suspension. Through innovative construction, suspension is accomplished because each breast is supported within the M and W overlap frame created especially for larger breasted athletes. These features, combined with the fact that this is the first pull-over-the-head, high-impact bra for up to size DD, make this bra unique.
A Peek Into 2015:
"What a whirlwind the last three years have been," said Ms. Heath. Our following of loyal Sturdy Girls is growing, we are winning awards from leading running magazines, and our technology works." Ms. Heath plans a new bra in 2015 with an open back design and promises it will work just as fabulously. "We intend to expand our size offerings in response to demand from women athletes. Keep watching to see the newest ways we will support Sturdy Girls."
