Stryker To Present Fifth K9s For Warriors Donation of 2017 at THE NORTHERN TRUST
MAHWAH, N.J., Aug. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Stryker Orthopaedics, the Official Joint Replacement Products of the PGA TOUR® and PGA TOUR Champions, announced today its next PGA TOUR stop of the year at THE NORTHERN TRUST in Old Westbury, New York. On Thursday of tournament week, Stryker will make its fifth K9s For Warriors donation of 2017, in an effort to honor the company's ongoing commitment to our nation's military. In addition, the company will continue to educate golf fans about joint health through its onsite destination – The Mobility Zone™.
This is the second consecutive year that Stryker has teamed up with K9s For Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing service canines to military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury or other trauma as a result of military service post 9/11. As part of this collaboration, while at THE NORTHERN TRUST, Stryker will host a special ceremony to pay homage to our military, by making a donation to K9s For Warriors. Tournament goers can also show their support to veterans by purchasing a Stryker hat at The Mobility Zone. For each hat purchased, Stryker will make a donation to the K9s For Warriors organization, empowering veterans to return to civilian life with dignity and independence by sponsoring service canines.
"Stryker's relationship with K9s For Warriors reaffirms our social responsibility in helping veterans transition to civilian life after their service," said Robert Cohen, Vice President and General Manager of Global Research & Development, Stryker's Joint Replacement Division. "We're also thrilled to bring The Mobility Zone back to the New York area as part of our commitment to educate fans on the importance of joint health."
Throughout the tournament, The Mobility Zone will provide fans the opportunity to partake in the 2017 Stryker Challenge – a hands-on experience featuring Art H. Ritis, a life-size model that aims to provide tournament goers with a basic understanding of joint replacement surgery and Stryker's products. In addition, fans who stop by The Mobility Zone will be able to enter for a chance to win a trip for two to Atlanta, GA for the TOUR Championship® and walk inside the ropes as an honorary observer – a true VIP experience.1,2
