Storage Leader Dot Hill to Exhibit at AUVSI's Unmanned Systems North America 2011 Forum
Company to Showcase 3000 Series Rugged, High-quality, Commercial and Military Grade Storage Solutions Designed for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Platforms
LONGMONT, Colo., Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL), a leading provider of Unified Virtual Storage and SAN storage solutions, today announced it will be exhibiting its 3000 Series MIL SPEC 810G compliant RAID storage solutions in booth 1610 at AUVSI's Unmanned Systems North America 2011 conference, Aug. 16-19 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Hosted by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the annual event is the world's largest unmanned systems exhibition, and draws more than 450 exhibitors and 6,500 government and user-organization attendees from around the globe to review, assess and discuss the current state of the unmanned systems market.
From the show floor, (Booth #1610), Dot Hill will exhibit its family of ruggedized, highly available, fault tolerant RAID storage solutions used to capture, manage and disseminate high resolution imagery and datasets for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) platforms.
UAVs, used for reconnaissance purposes and munitions targeting, leverage sophisticated infrared sensor systems to acquire real-time images of targets, as well as the position and speed of moving targets. The data is transmitted from the air vehicle over long distances to ground stations, to support real-time targeting of long-range artillery, intelligent artillery munitions, rockets and missiles.
Built to support mission-critical military and government applications, Dot Hill's Assured storage architecture provides unparalleled modularity, flexibility, maximum uptime and complete redundancy. These characteristics make it possible to deliver the security and performance required for 24-7-365 availability in stringent conditions, during stealth maneuvers and within challenging environments.
"Dot Hill consistently delivers the kind storage systems we need to meet our federal customers' expectations both for performance and ruggedness," notes Steve Travis, vice president of sales, Chassis Plans. Chassis Plans will exhibit its high performance integrated computing systems at booth 1744 at the AUVSI conference. Chassis Plans has the ability to design and rapidly build prototype products that meet a client's unique environmental requirements in areas such as shock and vibration, storage and operating temperatures and air filtration.
"Dot Hill's 3000 Series ruggedized storage technology has proven to be a good fit for a number of our partners who serve the UAV and Mobile Deployed Ground Station market," said Inese Lanka, senior director of sales – North America, for the federal sector at Dot Hill Systems. "As a veteran in the storage industry and a trusted partner for government and defense contractors, we are continuing to expand our footprint in the growing UAV and ruggedized storage markets."
