Steve Siepser, M.D. Joins Distinguished Group of 250 Eye Docs Nationwide

WAYNE, Pa., May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Steven Siepser and his team at Siepser Laser Eyecare have been named to Premier Surgeon magazine's top 250 (PS250) as leading innovators in the field of premium IOL implant surgery.

Dr. Siepser is one of only 14 ophthalmologists chosen by the magazine in Pennsylvania.

An IOL or intraocular lens is a premium implant that replaces a patient's natural lens that has lost clarity due to a cataract.  Unlike standard cataract replacement lenses, an IOL lens can correct cataracts and gives patients back their full range of vision. This allows patients to see at distance, intermediate and near, 90 percent of the time, which improves their performance after cataract surgery when compared to more traditional implants.

There are more than 18,000 ophthalmologists and 7,000 ophthalmology practices in the United States.

Because of Dr. Siepser's early adoption and promotion of the IOL technology, Premier Surgeon magazine is highlighting his practice as a feature story in an issue later this year. They are conducting interviews at his practice, Monday, May 17.

Dr. Siepser is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He holds six patents, five of which help improve patients' vision.
